Reference Number: PR211993

The Ministry for Social Justice and Solidarity, the Family and Children’s Rights acknowledged the work performed by the Hospice Movement with the provision of electronic equipment, so as to be able to further strengthen and maximise the work of professionals inside the community.

This work is mainly carried out amongst patients affected by cancer, as well as via offering emotional support to the families of these persons, who are also going through a difficult time.

During his visit inside the building that will be hosting St. Michael’s Hospice, Minister Michael Falzon presented ten laptops, whilst explaining this gesture as one of recognition towards the great work performed by the Hospice. Minister Michael Falzon stated that this Ministry already has a social agreement with the Hospice, so as to be able to finance it’s operation and management.

As a matter of fact, this agreement is to amount to a million euro, which in itself is to be distributed across a period of three years. This is aimed towards continuing to provide the best psycho-social support service for families, together with assistance focused and professional care based services.
